Bigotry comes to the iPhone …

I woke up a few minutes ago, to find hate in my Inbox. It seems some people have a problem with the fact that I host an application called the Mobile Holy Quran. I apologize for their filth, but I’d like you to see what these folks had to say. Surnames and email addresses have been omitted, to protect the guilty:

Tracey writes:

Subject: Regarding the AppTapp package "Mobile Holy Quran"

"Tell these sand niggers to kiss my ass. Blow up your own people!!!!"

David writes:

Subject: How dare you!

"I just got my new I phone and loaded mobile quran. What the HELL are you people thinking. This is a USA product!!!!!!!! Please don't put this crap, shit, on stuff on a good item. These people kill our people! don't let money cloud your thoughts. This could be YOUR family dying for some useless cause! STOP THIS NOW !"

To both people I responded:

"You disgust me. Please keep your bigoted comments to yourself. -ste"

I know, as do many people reading this, that there are many fine, honorable people who read the Quran, who are not terrorists and who wish us no harm. Many of those people are Americans even, not that this should matter. Just because a segment of a religious group means us harm, it does not follow that they all do. If this were true, I’d have to stop hosting the Bible as well, since some “Christians” think it’s perfectly fine to go around blowing up, shooting and otherwise killing people for performing abortions.

I suppose I should also stop hosting The Book of Mormon too, because the LDS Church excommunicated me for being gay. Yup, now you have another reason to be mad at me, Tracey & David. Not only am I not a bigot like you, I’m a faggot. I suppose I’ll get email about that, too.

Do me a favor - keep your hate to yourself.

To the people sending you these messages: There are books in the library that you do not read, does that keep you from going in? There are information on the internet that you do not agree with, does that keep you from “logging on”?

Also, in regards to the people being so concerned about terrorists, they clearly do not know much of anything about the subject. Just like ste, I am going out on a limb here and probably going to get ridiculed for it, but hey, this is the internet, right?

9/11 was an inside job. There are many, many facts to back that statement up. Before you right me off as insane, look into it for yourself!

[I don't personally subscribe to this theory, but won't censor Ryan. I don't want to see these comments turn into a debate on what happened on 9/11 however, so please stay on topic. -ste]

On topic? This is pretty WIDE topic.

ryanschmidt is among a seemingly growing group of people who see so much “bad” about the Bushies (which I have no love for either) that they are willing to forgo reading a bit in favor of buying into a conspiracy theory that a: is false on it’s face (requires the suspension of physics) b: requires you to believe the Bushies are competent enough to pull off the biggest hoax ever committed in the history of mankind and c: completely derails the conversation about what the Bushies have REALLY done to screw us in terms of Habius Corpus and dictatorial rule.

Anyway, back to the “topic”? Hehe… As long as you wouldn’t be in objection to hosting some cartoons from Denmark, your stance on the Quran is completely fine with me. As far as being gay goes, if you can put up with the BS guys put out, more power to you.

Lastly, and really REALLY on topic. People, leave this guy alone, he does yeoman work, for free, to do the iPhone community a service. Back the heck up and think before you send stupid emails.

    Cheers!
    Matt

As a muslim, I would like to thank you for your understanding and openess to other faiths.

It is very easy to get mislead by emotions, but I am happy to know that your site, and yourself do not side with those who continously ridicule and insult my fellow brothers and sisters.

Thank you for your stance, as it is greatly appreciated, regardless of who you are.

    > In the meantime: I can’t seem to be able to download the App Installer (Installer.app), since I want to download the PHP and Apache components into my Iphone, since there is a way for me to read my messages in Arabic. I have everything else set…just need the PHP and Apache…I think this can work with other languages if you tweek it well…but then again, I’m not sure…provided that it’s a UTF (Unicode Standard).

Can you help locate for me the actual files to install with since there has been alot of changes done to the repositories hosting it.

Any help is greatly welcomed. If you’re curious as to what I’m talking about…please feel free to review the below link:
