Ste Packaging

I’ve just added and/or updated the following application packages for the iPhone & iPod Touch:

NOTE: Assume that Installer.app, version 3.0 (or higher - and NOT 3.0b followed by a number), is required for proper installation of all packages I produce.

I’ve been working on the repository today, cleaning it up, streamlining some of the plists and making them all require Installer.app v3.0 (minimum) to install. I also changed the email contact on all of Erica Sadun’s packages, at her request. None of these changes required that I change the version number, so I did not. This means they will not show up on Installer.app’s Updates page, but they will (unfortunately) show up in the “Recent Packages” category for the next three days. Sorry.

All this cleaning up and so on is for a few reasons:

• The plist files are easier to maintain.
• The plist files are smaller, which should make refreshes against my site quicker, as the XML file will be smaller.
• It forces more people to upgrade to (at minimum) Installer.app v3.0 (I believe 3.01 is the current version, actually).
• It will help Erica deal with the crush of email she gets.
• It helps me get ready to run the automated scripts I need to run against the Installer.app packages, to produce a Cydia Packager repository from them.

Another change, again at Erica’s request, was that for any of her packages that only install on 1.1.3 firmware, I also add the ability to install on 1.1.4 firmware. I have done that, for the following packages, also with no change to their version numbers:

• XLaunch
• Banner
• Make It Mine
• Tapp
• ToDo
